This is a classic unaged white Rioja. The grapes are grown to provide below average yields and are hand-picked and cold macerated before pressing for maximum aroma. Fermentation is in stainless steel tanks where the wine is given a little lees contact for a rounder feel before the two grape varieties are blended together, stabilised and bottled.

The vines have to work hard and this provides good concentrated fruit, especially as the vines are over 60 years old, which gives great quality but low yields.
