Vinos de España - Cava

The families Sabaté and Coca, both with wine stories from the early twentieth century, joined the marriage of Montserrat Coca and Marcelino Sabaté and conceived this new joint project, Castellroig.

Based near San Sadurní De Noya in the heart of the Cava, they own 40 hectares of vineyard divided into plots according to the type of soil, basically calcareous.

Its 4 generations of experience its interesting range of wines reflects the essence of each vineyard that is scrupulously cared for with full respect for the land and the environment.

        Made from grapes grown in the firm’s three plots, Cuitor, Marsera and Sabaté, in the Penedés, the three grape varieties are fermented separately in stainless steel tanks before they are blended together in the best proportions.         This Cava rosé is made from the local Trepat grape which grows in calcareous gravels in the old terraces of the rivet Bitlles in the El Vendrell area. These soils help the grapes to ripen well and they are fermented in stainless steel tanks before bottling for their second fermentation.
