This is a lovely fruity wine with a serious edge from three years of ageing which gives it an attractive balance between fresh fruit and spice. It is made using a combination of state of the art equipment and old fashioned wisdom and the result is a fine quality wine with great versatility and charm.
Made mainly with Tempranillo grapes and aged for 20 months in new American oak barrels, and another 24 months rounding off in the bottle. Aromas of its noble ageing springs to the nose, combines with traces of coconut, toffee and ripe fruit. In the mouth its soft with supple volume. An extremely fulfilling and enjoyable wine.
This classic Navarra "coupage" of Tempranillo, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 18 months in oak produces a very balanced, persistent and harmonious wine.
Rioja Vega Reserva is made from the classic blend of Tempranillo (85%), Mazuelo (5%) and Graciano (10%). The fruits comes from the traditional 70ha. vineyards that the firm owns in Rioja. Its calcareous clay soils provide optimum drainage and excellent water retention. The wine was aged in both barrel and bottle to refine it before sale.
All the Tempranillo and Graciano for this wine come from a selection of the different parcels of the Finca El Estanque vineyard, a 60-hectare vineyard owned by the winery in the best areas of Haro. The vines are 30 years old on average
